Friends and Acquaintances re-united

The one thing that I learnt AFTER school was that I would never again have my social life given to me on a plate. I never appreciated it at the time, but 5 days a week 30 of my closest friends arrived in the same room as I was in for 6 hours at a time.

After school I actually had to go FIND those friends to share the same room with them...

And then the usual happens...
Life takes over... I got busy, I moved, I got lazy and eventually I just forgot...

There is something to be said for a social networking site like SA Reunited, Friends Reunited and recently Facebook. There is an element of once again having all my friends and acquaintances put before me on a plate.

Over the last weekend I took that further. I visited a dear school friend of mine that I had lost touch with for the last 15 years or so and spent a wonderful afternoon catching up. All of that because we linked up through one of the sites I mentioned before.

We caught up and reminisced and it was fantastic. Despite not having been in touch for such a long time, it clicked again like it had just been yesterday we last chatted.

Yes, there is definitely something to be said for those social networking sites...
It's like being back at school!!!!
